We check both registries
NYC Open Data for centers permitted by the NYC Health Department, and data.ny.gov for OCFS-licensed and registered programs statewide.

What each source covers
- NYC Health Department (Article 47). Group child care centers with an active permit in the five boroughs: permit numbers, programs, ages, and capacity. Inspection results are on the city's Child Care Connect site.
- NY State OCFS CCFS. Family Day Care, Group Family Day Care, School-Age Child Care, and Day Care Centers regulated outside of NYC, plus all OCFS-registered home-based programs in NYC. Includes facility ID, license dates, capacity by age group, and the provider on record.
- Updated daily. Both agencies update their datasets about once a day, and we refresh our copy at least daily, so a status change may take a day or two to appear here.
- No filtering or editorializing. We display whatever the registries publish. Negative records are never hidden; that's the point.
- Not legal or medical advice. Always confirm current status directly with the provider before booking care.
