Verify any NY daycare's
license, instantly.
Search any childcare provider in New York and see its current license status, expiration, capacity, age range, and inspection record. We check both the NYC DOHMH Article 47 registry and the NY State OCFS Child Care Regulated Programs dataset on every search.
Live data, straight from the city.
We query two official registries on every search: the NYC Department of Health Childcare Center Inspections dataset, and the NY State Office of Children and Family Services Child Care Regulated Programs dataset. No middleman, no scraped data; just the public record.
You search by name
We accept partial names, neighborhoods, or borough keywords. Two characters minimum.
We hit both registries
Two live API calls in parallel: NYC Open Data for DOHMH-licensed centers, data.ny.gov for OCFS-licensed and registered programs statewide.
You see the official record
License or permit, expiration, capacity, ages, last inspection (when published), and any violations, exactly as the city and state report them.
What each source covers
- NYC DOHMH (Article 47). Center-based daycares and preschools inside the five boroughs. Includes inspection history, violation rates, and most recent findings.
- NY State OCFS CCFS. Family Day Care, Group Family Day Care, School-Age Child Care, and Day Care Centers regulated outside of NYC, plus all OCFS-registered home-based programs in NYC. Includes facility ID, license dates, capacity by age group, and the provider on record.
- Daily refresh. Both datasets update every 24 hours. A status change may take up to a day to appear here.
- No filtering or editorializing. We display whatever the registries publish. Negative records are never hidden; that's the point.
- Not legal or medical advice. Always confirm current status directly with the provider before booking care.
Every PickNBook provider is verified, daily.
Listing on PickNBook means your DOHMH or OCFS license gets checked against the public registry every day. Lapsed licenses are removed automatically. It's the highest licensing-trust standard in New York childcare, and parents see it.
